Dr. Luna is the founder and chief executive leader at Kern Tutoring. He provides training, mentorship, and professional development for our educators while ensuring all students receive exceptional educational services. Dr. Luna also works closely with district and school leaders to develop and strengthen Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) that close opportunity and achievement gaps.


Dr. Luna has over 20 years of experience in K–12 instruction and leadership. He served as a Superintendent Fellow in a nine-school district serving more than 6,000 students. His work also includes supporting Native (Navajo and Hopi) and urban school leaders in New York to strengthen Tier 1 instruction.


A recognized leader in education and public service, he has earned honors including Bakersfield’s 20 Under 40, Class Marshal, and Harvard’s Presidential Public Service Fellowship—an award granted by Harvard’s president to only 15 students!
